    Djokovic smokes Nadal

    6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1

Yes, in his first major as the world's top-ranked player, Djokovic emphatically backed it up. He dismissed the defending champion 6-2, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1 in a match that ran 4 hours, 10 minutes.

"The results that I had this year are amazing and definitely that I haven't expected," Djokovic said. "It keeps coming. In the end, the bottom line, the whole point is to win the Grand Slams. These are the most important and valuable tournaments in our sport."

It's pretty amazing when you consider he steamrolled Federer the match previous. This kid's on fire.

Steamrolled Federer? Really? A 5 set come from behind win is a steamroll? He was lucky to get out of that one actually.

Djokovic is locked in right now. He probably won't lose again until sometime next year at this rate.

he was taking entire games off in the 5th set because he was exhausted from waht it took him to come back from 2 sets down. One huge forehand return ignited his 5 set comeback after Fed broke his serve.

Djok is on fire, but Nadal is just as good and I can see him going nuts trying to improve. Should be a great matchup between the two for years to come. Fed, imo, is on his way down. Murray will never win a grand slam unless someone else chokes early and/or gets injured.

    6-0.

And I understand that. Djok is on fire this year. But I still think Nadal responds to it and improves. They are both in their prime and it'll be fun to watch them battle it out.

    1. Fed is definitely on his way down. He's old and past his prime. He might get one or two more, but he's past his prime.
    2. Djokovic has dominated Nadal all year, but wasn't/hasn't Nadal been injured for a lot of it?
    3. Can Nadal quit trying to finger his ass between every point or does he do it because KVN likes it so much?

Nadal will figure it out. He is the most mentally strong player on tour. He knew he was getting beat last night and still managed to will himself to try and get every ball back.
