Apparently he's announcing his decision tonight on ESPNU.

Doesn't fit Cal's usual recruit profile but at least he'll be there for a while.

Was he cheaper than Unibrow?

I didn't say he's coming to UK, though I've seen reports that UK will be his destination. Thing is, I've seen reports saying the same thing for KU and Gonzaga. But to your first point, no, he's not a typical Calipari player. He has excellent post skills and a legit perimeter shot, but is not really athletic at all. He has a good frame to work with (6'9", 225), but needs to get stronger. I'll be happy if we get him, but I'm not counting this one yet.

The kid played for a helluva summer league team.
Cal has every kid in the country wanting to play there and every other fanbase hates it.
A couple years ago it was UNC and before that Duke and before that it was Pitino's wildcats.
We're just jealous. I thought that the 2008 title would put us in position to cherry pick the best but while we do fish in the deep end we don't land a ton of them.

We just landed Selby (I don't care about the investigation) he's the #1 player in the class. We aren't fishing in the deep end. UK landed Knight who isn't as good as Selby. What hte hell are you talking about? When you lose 5 players to a draft, you have a lot more scholarships to give out so it seems like you land moer people. But when they burn out in the sweet 16 or elite 8 again, nobody will care but TDH. Then he'll just claim victory (like Cal) when they get 5 in the 1st round.

In other news, Kentucky is severely raising their ticket prices:

"Kentucky ticket controversy: There’s some controversy at the University of Kentucky over a required increase in donations to obtain seats in Rupp Arena for the 2010-11 hoops season. The Lexington Herald-Leader on Sunday reported the displeasure of former UK All-American Frank Ramsey, who learned his K Fund donation required to reserve his second-row seats would increase from $1,350 to $5,000 per ticket.

“Is this a misprint or what?” he told the paper of his first reaction.

Ramsey, one of six individuals with UK ties to be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, said he would give up those second-row seats.

“It’s not what everybody else has done. It’s what Kentucky is doing,” Ramsey said, told by the Herald-Leader that UK has provided media data indicating the ticket pricing is similar to what other top programs charge. “With the way the economy is, I just feel for people.”

The 79-year-old Ramsey had had second-row seats since 1976, when Rupp first opened."

They still aren't even in the ballgame compared to AFH. Those seats cost, at minimum, 3 times as much at AFH.

Like it or not, it's all about supply and demand. My upper level season tickets jumped 25% this year from $28 a piece to $35 a piece. By the time I figure in the cost of my parking pass and the fuel to get there and back (hour and a half one way) it'll cost the wife and me $100 a game, assuming we don't buy any food or drinks after we get there. I've had these seats for 10 years now, and while UK tickets have always been highly desireable, the demand for them last year was absolutely through the roof. Hell, I had to pay almost triple face value for two extra tickets for my kids to the friggin' Hartford game we played last year, and it was on a Wednesday at 1:00 in the afternoon!!! The University recognizes the demand and is capitalizing on it, plain and simple.

Oh yeah TDH? Well my lower level tickets are FREE.

Ok so maybe it's because I'm a student
