Best I have seen:
1. 2007 Orange Bowl - Just capped an amazing season and it was fun to see KU on the national football stage
2. 2004 K-State - I was at the 2007 Nebraska game, but that 2004 K-State game at home was very special. Especially when all of the K-Staters there realized with a few minutes in the game they were about to lose.
Honorable mention to 2007 Huskers, 2003 mizzou.

Worst I have seen:
1. 1999 San Diego State - That was just painful to get our asses handed to us by them.
2. 1998 K-State - That game was cold, miserable, and we sucked ass the entire game.
Honorable mention to any Booger game, the 80's, and KU-mizzou in 2007.

I was at the KU/KSU game in 2004. I was worried going into the game with the QB situation KSU had at the time. I believe that Dylan M. was injured and we were going to have to rely on Allan Webb. I was not confident about that. By that point in the season I knew that we weren't a great team, but I figured that we had enough to beat lowly KU.
KSU started slow but the score was only 6-10 at half and I Meier came in for the second half as I recall. I figured that we would come back but after KU scored on a hook and ladder to go ahead 17-6 it looked pretty bleak for me standing in the northeast endzone.

To my surprise KSU did come back and for a moment there it seemed like all was right in the world(I was going nuts by the way), and KSU was up 21-17 heading into the 4th quarter. A fumble recovery near midfield by KSU had me gloating, and with good reason. We hadn't lost to KU since I was in 5th grade(over half of my life at the time). But KSU couldn't move the ball or run the clock and a long FG try was blocked.

After that I was nervous again and some asshole caught a long pass and KU was ahead again.

Then John Randle ripped my heart out.

It was definitely a surreal experience, I had never seen another teams home fans celebrating a big victory in person before. It made me want to puke. Later that night I got locked out of my friends house(some house where a bunch of KU law students lived, pretty cool house actually, lots of KU shit, tons of couches arranged in stadium seating), and some Lawrence townies nearly pummeled my friend and I.

Great times!

Best: KSU vs. OU in KC in 2003, KSU vs. UT in 2006(we weren't that great but it was wild)
Worst: KSU vs. KU 2004, KSU vs. Colorado in 2001 (we had just lost close to OU and were still in the top ten, CU manhandled us and then after the game the players and fans were all chanting, "K-State's OVER!, K-State's OVER!")

I'm sure none of you care.

Correction. Fresno State 2004 was the second worst behind the KU loss. CU wasn't as bad as that day.

The Best: Orange Bowl in 2008

The Worst is a tie between the SDSU game in Lawrence and the SMU game in Dallas.

These are just the ones I have seen in person. Keep in mind, I didn't start going to game regularly until 2001

Best:

1. Orange Bowl - One of the best sporting events I have ever been to. Everything from the lead up, to the KU "tailgate", to the game, just magical. Sat right infront of some very nice Va Tech fans on the 20 yard line behind the KU bench. It was cold but because I was in Florida in January I would no accept that so I still wore my normal "gameday gear" (hell, it worked all season) and payed for it the next few days.

2. KSU 04 - I still remember how loud it was at the end of the game and the way I felt. I actually went to the game by myself because my friend bailed on me and ended up sitting around total strangers in the student section. That game had everything, from the hook and ladder, the Simmons one handed catch, etc. I'm a pretty isolated dude but I think I hugged everyone within a 2 row radius after Randle hit that run. P.S. I really miss those unis.

Worst:

1. @ Nebraska 08 - I was so sure that it would finally be our time there, especially after how 06 went. It was butt ass cold and sleeting for most of the game. Todd had that crazy TD pass early in the game which made me even more confident this was going to be it. Gradually it slipped away and all that was left was a long, bitter drive back to KC.

2. (TIE) Missouri 07 - Yeah it sucked we lost the game but I have never been to a bigger cluster fuck in my entire life. To this day I refuse to ever go to Arrowhead Stadium again for anything. Yes, that means I missed KUvMU in 08, but I had that bad of an experience that night...and it was butt ass cold.

2. (TIE) Texas Tech 08 - If you were at that game you know.

Best
1. Orange Bowl - just a surreal experience. Flat out awesome.
2. KU-Mizzou 2008 - best football game I've ever seen in person. Also personally had more fun with my friends this game than any other.

Worst
1. Texas Tech 2008 - only game I've left before the final whistle.
2. KU-Mizzou 2009 - the game was fine enough, except for the ending. But the whole thing was just a perfect close to such a disappointing year. Plus, I hated seeing Todd, Kerry, et. al. leave like that.

You are missing out. They fixed the problems that there were in 07.

I know...I know... but I still refuse. I also don't go because I still don't like the idea of having the game there (let's not make this an argument for or against it, we've done that many many times) so by not going I feel like I'm mini-protesting.

The entire family got stomach flu the night before the 2008 game, so we couldn't go. We were all dead on the couch until Reesing to Meier. I would have loved to have been there. Last year was great until the end.

I have to appreciate a futile and pointless protest against something that is a benefit to all involved and makes perfect sense.

I said I don't want to argue about it because it always goes the same way.

I understand the benefits of having it at Arrowhead.

I understand the benefits/drawbacks of having it on campus.

I want it on campus. Deal with it.

Doesn't really bother me. You are the one missing the best game-day experience against our biggest rival, not me.

Fair enough. I feel a little in your corner as well. But I will probably go again to Arrowhead at some point.

I would like it back on campus, but I don't see that happening over the next decade. Especially if we can't get the ship righted again, we'll be hungry for those $$$$.

I would love to see a MU game on campus again, but the atmosphere and tension in the air at Arrowhead just makes it feel like the biggest game of the year. Which is awesome IMO.

Best....Nubby 2007/KSU 2004

Worst...TTU 2008/OU 2005...ugh that game was awful....I wanted to kill everyone on that entire offense....I was glad Nick Reid called them out

the K-state game that followed was equally bad...but I wasn't there....fortunately
