Are students still given a "free" guest ticket to the opener? I know it was like this when I was in school several years ago. If any current students are reading the board, I'd appreciate a heads up. I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying a single ticket in advance, or just chancing my luck scalping one before kickoff.

Yup, students with an all-sports pack get a complimentary ticket.

Yeah, we get a comp ticket for the first game. You just have to show a KU ID at the gate to get in.

You don't need a KU ID to get in with a complimentary ticket. Only a student ticket. A few years ago I collected 15 extra "complimentary" tickets and had a big group of friends in town for the game.

I'll just throw it out here then, if anyone has a comp. ticket or a student ticket (I think I can find my KU ID somewhere) that you can't use, I'll be happy to work out a price with you.

A price? They got it for free and it's a waste (and selfish to the team) to not use it or give it to another to use. Student ticekts by themselves are only 10 dollars. Don't pay more than that.

I got student tickets....and I'm not a student anymore! boo yah

once I get my feet on the ground, I'll be able to afford regular tickets...but right now, even though they're relatively cheap, they're still not something I can justify at the moment...but I'll take the $45 student tickets from some lame ass that doesn't go already

I'm hoping not to. I'm finishing law school this year, so I'm still broke myself. The people I'm going to the game with (my roommates from college and their spouses) all have nice-paying jobs and can afford season tickets. I'm just looking for a random ticket to get in the gate with, but I don't want to be the cheap-ass asking for a ticket that is in demand, thus my offer to negotiate.
