It is getting so tiresome that the Wild Card was invented and basically the second place team int he AL East gets it year after year after year. Anyways, there are some nice races shaping up. I really hope that Tampa Bay can fend off the Yankees and win the East, but then again does it really matter? My Royals are losers once again.

As a fan of a team that's benefited twice in the last three seasons from the Wild Card, I can't really complain about it too much. Most of the divisions should have interesting races to the finish, except the AL West. I don't see the Rangers coughing up an 8 game lead. But then again they ARE the Rangers.
NL West should be fun down the stretch. I think that one will start to tighten up the farther we go. If this Cubs series was anything to go by, I think the Rockies are getting ready to go on they're typical late season run.

Both the Twins and the White Sox whiff at the trading deadline. Should be interesting to see if the Central gets a 163rd game again.

The Twins will win the central by a couple games. The Sox won't be able to stay as hot as they have were for the month before the break and the first couple weeks after. They don't have the hitters to keep it up and their bullpen is shaky at best.

The Twins are the first team to take a playoff spot.

The AL East race has actually turned out to be kind of exciting. Strange to think that the difference between Boston and New York making the Playoffs is Papelbon.

I hope the Braves get the Wild Card. It'll be close.

The playoff chase for 2011 has already started. The Royals are automatically 15 games behind first place.
