Somebody needs to post a link on RockChalk.com and Slant.com's KU site. I'd suggest a link on Phog.net, but I'm pretty sure it's been tried and the users banned in a noble effort.
Anybody that's still on Phog.net should speak honestly about this place's freedom to use swear words and about The Outhouse forum for adults. We'll let our freeform nature go up against Tom's hardline policy in the free marketplace and see where we're at a year from now. I'm betting this place will be crazier than ever and Tom will have lost hundreds of his daily users. I can hope.

I would be posting more, but I sort of have an access issue (see the 'worst day ever' thread on page 3). I can read and post from my phone, but it's a pretty slow process. Good news is that we will have a place in a couple of weeks.

I'm going to be in and out over the next week or so as I get ready to move back to Kansas. Once football season starts, things should pick up around here, and it should be a little easier to get the word out.

Roy23 should get an invite. I felt HawkNMO would be a good fit, but Tom tried to quiet the masses and made him a mod. How about StrongBadia? I think JhawkBlvd would have a Tannoudji type effect on this board. Start a ton of stupid threads that allow us to rip on him and raise entertainment value. Also, did TaTown transfer over from the old site to this one?

I think until we can maintain some steady traffic it is going to be hard to pull more people over. There are times where you can almost hear the crickets around here. Like Randy said, we need to just keep on posting and get some epic threads going.

Thread title - "Chemhawk is a real douchebag...."
Thread message - "Welcome Chemhawk we just wanted you here...."
Somebody could randomly PM them link to thread.

Yep. That's how I heard about it today. I think more and more people will head over here. Phog is pretty dead right now too.

They made a big mistake in banning ol' Chief. I had a knack for creating drunken threads about wkires in my yatd that would go 30+ pages. GG, TomLight.

Same. I wonder why it's requiring us to sign in again; there should be a feature that bypasses that for active forum users who are already logged in to the forum proper.

This. I was moderately disappointed last year when KU's bball games went to mostly national coverage, as it meant no more justintv chats. For those blow-out games, the chat function exponentially increases your enjoyment of the game.

TOS has been infected with a new round of the aidz . . . people should have the pitchforks out shortly (meanwhile Humbert remains convinced this is hoopo's scheme).
Perfect timing on the creation of this little ol' piece of the interwebs as folks tire of TOS's arbitrary and capricious decisions from management, unresponsiveness by management on a number of items and Scout's inability to keep computers from being infected.
I think the best thing to do now is try to make this site more than an ApeRoom with fuck, shit, dick and all the rest allowed. While I love(d) the Ape Room gravitas, it was the hoops and football coverage and discussion that initially drew me in. As someone much smarter than I once posted, the Hoops brings you in, the Ape makes you stay.
I recall a few years back Ramrod tried to start a board which had some initial activity then devolved into a bashing the characters from the Phog board. It was a short, uneventful run as it provided nothing else besides a place to call so and so a slut.
If we can get the discussion on the sports boards hopping a bit (tough to do in this time of the year), I think that will bring in a fair amount of traffic. Since we have some of the best talent the Ape Room has to offer already on board, I think many will stick around.

You remembered to do Sheep?!?! And, yes, I agree. But last night in WTW chat, I couldn't go to another window without losing my chat connection. That could have been the crap connection I had in Montucky, though.
